When you allow all emotions to flow through you, and all thoughts to simply come and go,
you are becoming transparent.

That's a good thing.

Awareness is always open.

Even when you're feeling closed, awareness is open to everything, including the feeling of being closed.

It's never a gamble.
It's always there for you.

When you take a picture of the world,
you're actually taking a selfie.

All that appears, appears in awareness.
You are awareness.
You are the world.
The world is you.

Then notice what's noticing your breathing.

Be what's noticing.

Looking for Direction?

Skip the outside directions.

Look within.

It's where happiness lives.

Really.

Turn your attention around from what you're looking at, to what's looking.

Then look out again from awareness itself.

That's pure awareness. Be that.

Instead of looking to the world for happiness, make a U-turn and look inside at awareness itself.

Then make another U-turn and look at the world from pure awareness.

When you feel bad, you can replay the situation over and over in your mind, or you can look inside and be the awareness in which it appears.

The first way makes it worse.

The second leads to peace.

When you look at your hand, you don't think of it as apart from yourself.

What if you looked at the rest of the world in the same way—that is, as part of yourself?

Turn your attention from what you're looking at, to what's looking. That's the clear, loving field of awareness—your true nature, the source of joy.

Be that.

The story of you is just a story.
It's not reality.
Reality is direct experience without a story attached.

If your body is a piece of paper and your mind is the writing, you're the envelope the letter is in.

Be the envelope. Be Awareness.

You are the "I" that knows all your experience.
The body and mind appear in this "Big I."
This "Big I" is universal consciousness. It's nature is love.

Ask yourself, "What is aware of my feelings?"
Whatever it is, be that.

The simplest way to free yourself from your mind is to ask yourself, "What is aware of my thoughts?"
Whatever it is, it's not your thoughts.
Be that.

The simplest way to overcome the "I am the body" idea is to ask yourself, "What is aware of my body?"
Whatever it is, it's not your body.
Be that.

Is what's looking out your eyes now the same as when you were five?

That's pure awareness—clear, allowing awareness—your true nature.

You don't have to quiet the mind.

You simply have to notice the silent background in which thoughts appear.

What if we're ripples on the surface of water?
We aren't separate from other ripples or from the water, into which we eventually disappear.

Take a half-step behind yourself to notice who is noticing.

That is universal awareness—your true nature. That's where peace and happiness live.

That's what sets Awareness Games apart from regular meditation techniques. You're playing around with your own mind to find the way that works for you and brings you to the joy that lives in pure awareness, the background of all experience.

Notice awareness itself and happiness reveals itself, unrelated to whatever you may be feeling.

Awareness is always here.

It's not something you achieve, acquire or increase. It's something that's always here. All you need to do is notice it.

Letting go to get rid of something is not really letting go.

True letting go is allowing everything to arise without a strategy to prevent it or get rid of it.

Awareness is not what you think.

It's what thinking appears in.

Look inside.
Turn your attention from what you're looking at to what's looking.
Be that.
Look out again from there.

Is awareness in you, or are you in awareness?
Are you in the world, or is the world in you?
Which is the figure, and which is the ground?
Or are they the same?

If you don't go to memory of the past or imagination of the future, can you sense that happiness, contentment, inner peace, love, and joy are here now?

Who or what is aware of my body?
Who or what has a body?
Be the bigger awareness in which your body appears.

Does working on yourself work?
Or is there something within that doesn't need fixing?
Something that notices all of your imperfections, but is perfect in and of itself?

• Look for the field of awareness in which all things appear.
• Turn around again and look out from there.
• Be Awareness itself.
